The version of EE, which can be considered an interpretation – ignoring the musical sense – of the slur of A, written with panache, could have been repeated after FE, which, after all, was based on A. In the very FE the erroneous slur would have been corrected in the last phase of proofreading (although there are no visible traces of such a correction on the available photocopies of FE copies). In turn, the slur in GE1 – beginning from f in the previous bar – is completely erroneous. The engraver could have mistaken the bars, since they end with the same note (the mistake was corrected in subsequent GE). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE , Inaccuracies in FC |

GE2 omitted a staccato dot to B in the L.H. – certainly an engraver's oversight. The mark was added in GE3. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , GE revisions |

The longer slur of FE (→EE) results from overinterpretation of the slur of A. The fact of GE1 having omitted the slur is an oversight, corrected in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Errors in GE , GE revisions |

The missing tie of f1 is a patent mistake, although in FE it was overlooked, while in GE1 – distorted, since it was interpreted as a slur combining the crotchets of the middle voice, c1 and e1. The correct version was introduced in subsequent GE; the tie was also added in FESf. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Annotations in FESf |

In GE2 the top voice is written in normal font notes. It is probably a mistake or perhaps an erroneous revision. GE3 restored the authentic notation using small quavers. Interestingly, normal font notation was initially also in A. However, Chopin quickly changed the concept and crossed out the R.H. part so written still before adding the L.H. part. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations; Source & stylistic information issues: Corrections in A , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Deletions in A |
