b. 326-330

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

No pedalling in A

  in bars 328 & 330 in FC (→GE1)

  in bars 326 & 328 in FE (→EE)

3 times   in GE2 (→GE3)

..

A comparison with analogous b. 428-432 proves that the complementary pedalling markings in b. 326, 328 and 330, added by Chopin in FC and FE, are to be considered jointly; the second time Chopin added three pedals in each of the two sources. A proper addition was also introduced in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 332

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

Inverted long accent in A

Long accent in FC

in FE (→EE)

Short accent in GE

..

In the main text we give a long accent with which Chopin replaced in FC the original reversed accent, inaccurately reproduced as a  hairpin both in FC and FE (→EE). The short accent in GE is a typical inaccuracy related to Chopinesque long accents, which do not belong to the canon of generally applied indications.

b. 333

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

e2 in A (→FCGE, →FEEE1EE2)

e2 in EE3

The version of EE3 is an arbitrary revision aiming at adapting this bar to b. 435, changed (also arbitrarily) already in EE2.

b. 334-349

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

..

In A Chopin wrote and crossed out 4 pairs of   dynamic hairpins. Each of the marks was more or less 2 bars long. If the crossing-out was related to the addition of the leggiero indication, it would be a trace proving the change of concept of this fragment from a casually virtuoso one to a more delicate one, which would not disturb the lyrical, intimate mood of the previous C minor section.
