The absence of the tie of c4 must be a mistake (probably of the engraver of FE, although Chopin's oversight also cannot be excluded), which is proved by:
- a tie in analogous bar 175;
- ties of g3 and e3 in the next two motifs, being a slightly modified repetition of the first one;
- ties added in two pupil's copies bearing clear traces of this movement of the Concerto having been developed during lessons with Chopin.
The tie was added both in GE and EE.
