The source fingering does not naturally combine both with the preceding trill and the position of the next motif; it is also difficult to find a reason why Chopin could have considered the fingering to be worth of indicating. Therefore, one can assume that it is a mistake – one of the digits is erroneous or the digits were misplaced. The above doubts make us omit this indication in the main text, yet we suggest one of the possible corrections of the source version as an alternative solution.
