Slur in brackets suggested by the editors

In the main text of the Polonaise we suggest adding various small elements of notation, whose absence can be considered Chopin's inadvertence or the engraver's oversight. At the same time, we take into consideration similar places, both adjacent and in the repetitions of the respective fragments. The general condition for such actions is Chopin's visible care for the most precise notation possible. It concerns:

  • the slurs in b. 19, 23, 163,
  • the staccato marks in b. 20, 23, 43, 52-53,
  • the accents in b. 36-37, 41,
  • the pedalling in b. 26-28, 30 and 174, 39 and 183, 46 and 190, 54 and 198, 58 and 202, 61-63 and 205-207, 72 and 216, 89 as well as 171.
