The version of FE (→EE1) with c2 in the ending of the trill is most probably erroneous. It is indicated by visible traces of removal of a before this note in FE and GE – c2 does not require any sign in this case, hence the was most probably printed by mistake, instead of , natural in this context. In this situation, removal of this sign in FE may be considered a result of either ordering of the notation of accidentals by the reviser or of Chopin's incompletely implemented proofreading, aiming at restoring . Therefore, in the main text we give the version of GE, in which the was replaced with a , perhaps by the composer himself. A double sharp was added also in EE2 (→EE3). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Errors in EE |

The version of FE (→GE,EE) is most probably erroneous – in the entire section encompassing bars 156-157, the 3rd quaver in analogous figures in the L.H. is always an a. An additional argument supporting a is the presence of c1 on the 2nd semiquaver in the R.H., being the resolution of the last d1 from the previous bar. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Editorial revisions issues: Errors in FE |

One missing accent in bar 245 and 3 missing accents in bar 247 are almost certainly a result of Chopin's oversight (which remained uncorrected in the proofreading of FE) or a mistake of the engraver. We suggest adding these probably missing marks. The accents in bar 247 were added already by the reviser of EE. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE |

FE (→GE,EE) has a c2 as the 2nd semiquaver. It is a typical Terzverschreibung error of the engraver (or perhaps of Chopin in the Stichvorlage for FE). Chopin corrected the erroneous note in pencil in FES. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , Errors in EE , Errors in GE , Terzverschreibung error , Annotations in FES |
