Chopin wrote four cautionary flats in A – three at the beginning of the bar and a fourth one before d3. The signs were repeated in GE, whereas in FE (→EE1) the flats before the octave in the L.H. were overlooked. These were in turn restored – most probably on the basis of comparison with GE1 – in EE2 (→EE3). In the main text we add five cautionary signs more, before b2, b1, c3, e3 and d2.
