Issues : Authentic corrections of FE
b. 1-2
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The slur embracing the bass motif, visible in GC (→GE), was probably overlooked by the engraver of FE1 (→FE2→EE1). It was then added in the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4), probably as a result of Chopin's intervention. The sign was also added in EE2.

The slur over the part of the L.H. is undoubtedly a Chopin addition introduced in the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

The natural raising d2 to d2, added – most probably by Chopin – in the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4) is most likely a correction of a mistake and not a new version of this detail. The bottom notes of the dyads (and in the chords also the middle ones), unless they are an octave doubling of the top voice, always belong to the components of a current chord in the entire section comprising bars 17-36. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors in EE , Errors in GE , Authentic corrections of FE , Errors of GC |

In FE1 (→FE2) the top note of the last chord in the R.H. is a b1. It is certainly a mistake, corrected, perhaps by Chopin, in the proofreading of FE3 and base text to EE. The remaining sources also include the correct c2. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Authentic corrections of FE |
