b. 141
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The version of the 4th quaver with b2 cannot be authentic, as the visible before this note in GC and FE1 (→FE2→EE1) was probably supposed to concern the bottom note of the third, g2 (the revisers of GE and EE2 added another here, considering its absence a common oversight). It is proved by a comparison with analogous bars – in all the remaining places (bars 137, 143, 145 and 147-149) the top voice of the dyads is led diatonically, without raising the note on the 4th quaver in the bar. It is confirmed by the Chopinesque proofreading of FE3 (→FE4), in which the sign was moved before the bottom note, which proves that the composer heard here g2-b2. On the other hand, if g2-b2 had really been intended by Chopin from the very beginning, the in [A] would have probably been misplaced, since two persons – the copyist and the engraver of FE1 – misinterpreted it. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 143-144
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The source text, when interpreted literally, features g2 notes on the 4th quaver of both bars. However, the appearance of g2 notes both directly before these bars and after them makes an accidental oversight of naturals before one or both of these notes likely. Therefore, we suggest three, according to us justifiable, versions clarifying the source text. category imprint: Interpretations within context issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Omission of current key accidentals , Inaccuracies in GC |

b. 218
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The notation of accidentals in the penultimate chord in the R.H. in bar 218 is inaccurate in the sources. The raising e2 to e2 is absent in all sources, whereas the raising g2 to g2 is present only in GE and EE. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Inaccuracies in GC |

b. 219
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The raising c2 to c2 at the end of bar appears only in FESch (written in), FE4 and EE2. The absence of this accidental constitutes an undoubted oversight by Chopin in [A] – cf. e2 and not e2 in an analogous passage in bars 91-92. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Authentic corrections of FE , Annotations in FESch |

b. 220-221
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
In [A], there was neither raising g3 to g3 in the last crotchet of bar 220 nor raising e3 to e3 at the beginning of bar 221. These obvious inaccuracies were only corrected in some sources – was added in FE4, GE and EE2, and in FE2 (→EE,FE3→FE4). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , FE revisions , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |
