Three slurs of GC (→GE) probably correspond to the notation of [A], although an inaccurate interpretation of Chopin's idea cannot be excluded, e.g., in relation to the transition into a new line. The only slur of FE1 (→FE2) ends in bar 128 with a suggestion of continuation, which is an inaccuracy in itself, as in the subsequent bars there are no slurs. However, it may mean that it was the very notation of [A] that was unclear, e.g., at the end of a line or due to corrections. The incomplete notation of the first impressions of FE was completed – most probably as a result of Chopin's intervention – in FE3 (→FE4) and in the base text to EE. The added slur, non-separated at the end of bar 130, which is compatible with the unquestionable phrasing of a similar phrase in bars 121-124, may be considered to be an expression of Chopin's final intention. According to us, it does not have to, however, concern the continuation of the slur in bar 129 – the composer may have introduced a slur in bars 129-132, paying no attention to the perhaps inaccurate slur ending the previous line of the text, whereas the engravers of FE3 and EE adjusted it to the already printed and non-corrected slur in bars 127-128.
