b. 98

composition: Op. 27 No 1, Nocturne in C# minor

before g1 in GE (→FE)

No accidental in EE

Correct text: e1

..

GE (→FE) has  placed before g1. The accidental—pointless in that position—was removed iIn EE. In the main text we shift to its correct position (before e1) in keeping with the obvious harmonic sense. Due to the lack of [A] it is impossible to say wether this is an engraver's error or the accidental was inaccurately placed in the autograph.

b. 99

composition: Op. 27 No 1, Nocturne in C# minor

..

GE (→FEEE) has an additional superfluous before g1. The accidental could have been already in [A]—sometimes Chopin added a cautionary sign relating to some potential imaginery note or chord, and not to real ones preceding the given passage (cf. e.g. Mazurka in G minor Op. 24 No 1, bar 11).
