b. 81

composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor

Minim in As, literal reading

Minim with grace note in AI

Crotchets, f2 tied in A, GE & EEW2

Crotchets, f2 repeated in FE (→EEC,EEW1)

..

In As, in which the second half of this section (bars 81-96) is written only in the form of alternative versions of the first one (bars 65-80), the bar is to be interpreted as identical to bar 65 (except for the bass note at the beginning). However, it cannot be excluded that it is an inaccuracy of notation and that Chopin provided there for a version with an agrace note, like it is in AI.
The slurring is discussed in the adjacent note.

b. 84-85

composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor

No tied notes b in As & AI

Tied notes b in A (→FEEE) & GE2no2

Tied note b in GE1op (→GE2opGE3op) & GE1no2

..

As in bars 68-69 Chopin did not mark the sustention of the note b in the earlier autographs. The tie was also omitted in most GE (except GE2no2). If not an error by the engraver of GE1op & GE1no2, this could indicate that the tie was added in FE in the last stage of proofreading (despite its presence in A).

b. 90

composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor

Dotted rhythm in As & A (→FEGE,EE)

Crotchets in AI

..

The variant version of AI may prove Chopin's hesitation, as long as the dotted rhythm in As was not added later than AI was developed.
