The sharps raising d3(2) to d3(2), overlooked in the manuscripts, were added in FE (→GE,EE). It is a typical inaccuracy of the Chopin notation. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Omission of current key accidentals , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 15
|
composition: Op. 64 No 3, Waltz in A♭ major
..
The moment of the division of the slur – after the 3rd or the 4th quaver of the bar – is not completely clearly marked in A. The interpretation of FE (→EE) is graphically less likely and at the same time pianistically less natural, therefore, in the main text we choose the first, definitely more likely possibility. Such slurs are given in GE, yet in GE1op and GE1Ab there is no second slur (until bar 22), which is undoubtedly a mistake. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Inaccurate slurs in A , Errors in GE |

b. 16-22
|
composition: Op. 64 No 3, Waltz in A♭ major
..
Due to the applied abbreviated notation of bars 17-31, it is not entirely certain how the slurs of A at the transition between bars 16 and 17 are to be interpreted. According to us, it is more likely that Chopin though about a continuous slur, which is indicated by the fact of combining slurs in A in analogous bars 124-125 (a respective change was introduced in later GE). Omission of the slur in GE1op and GE1Ab is a patent mistake. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , Errors in GE , GE revisions |

In As (→A) bars 17-31 are not written out, but only marked as a repetition of bars 1-15 (in As the only signal of the anticipated repetition are two versions of the ending, corresponding to bars 16 and 32). category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Abbreviated notation of A |

GE1Ab and GE1op overlooked the sign. In GE2op (→GE3op) the hairpin was added, but only in bar 18, which is an arbitrary revision. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Errors in GE , GE revisions |
