See the Etude in A major, No. 1.

b. 18

composition: Op. 25 No 10, Etude in B minor

..

In GC and EE1 (→EE2) there is no  returning c in the last chord in the L.H. The sign was added in GE and EE3, and probably also in the proofreading of FE.

b. 23

composition: Op. 25 No 10, Etude in B minor

..

In GC and EE1 there is no  lowering F to F in the 1st chord in the bar. This patent inaccuracy was corrected in GE and EE2 (→EE3). FE also includes the correct text.

F1-F in GC (→GE) & FE

F1-F in EE

..

The version of EE is vitiated by an uncertainty concerning its authenticity – it can be a mistake or revision, which cannot be stated without the manuscript base text to this edition or other additional pieces of source information. Therefore, in the main text we give the compatible version of the remaining sources. As far as the music is concerned, the version of EE seems to be less convenient, as it omits F in the progression of bass, without any specific reason, which is the base of the initial and final chord of the dominant in the B minor/B major key: (F)-E-D-E-F(!)-A.

Metronome in GC (→GE) & EE3

No indication in FE & EE1 (→EE2)

..

The indication of the metronome tempo was added by Chopin in GC in pencil, hence in the last phase of preparing the Stichvorlage manuscripts for print. Differently than at the beginning of the Etude, the composer added the indication only in this copy. In EE3 it was undoubtedly added on the basis of comparison with GE.
