Chopin's intention of providing all bass notes with staccato dots remains beyond any doubt, despite the fact that in A the last dot is missing (or it is written in an unclear manner). It is FE and GE2 (→GE3) that include the totally correct notation in this respect. In the remaining editions, the notation is more or less inaccurate – GE completely omits the dots in these bars, while EE puts them only next to a few notes, rather accidentally (one dot was omitted in each of the following bars: 1-3 and 5-6). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , GE revisions , EE inaccuracies , Inaccuracies in A |

There is no accidental before the bottom note of the 10th sixth, which makes it to be interpreted as g2. The flat added here in GE2 (→GE3) cannot come from Chopin, yet, one has to admit that a similar addition in many other places would be absolutely accurate – cf. the adjacent note. Possible doubts concerning the sound of this note is dissipated by the added before it in FES. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions |

In A (→GE1), FE and EE there is no returning f2 in the penultimate sixth. This patent error was noticed only in GE2 (→GE3) on the occasion of a thorough revision of accidentals – cf. the notes concerning the natural and flat before the previous sixth. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors in EE , Omissions to cancel alteration , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Errors of A |

In the main text we add a cautionary before e3; the addition was already introduced in GE and repeated in EE3. In GE2 (→GE3) a poorly justified cautionary was added also before d3 (as well as an erroneous before the bottom note of the 10th sixth). category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , GE revisions |
