b. 124

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

..

In A (→EE,GCGE1), the first note in the R.H. lower part mistakenly has the value of a minim. The error was rectified in FE and GE2(→GE3).

Repeated basses in EE

EE overlooked the ties sustaining the bass foundations in bars 124-125 and c from 2nd half of bar 129 to the beginning of bar 131.

b. 125-126

No G in bar 126 in A (→FE,EE,GCGE)

suggested by the editors

..

In the sources there is no extension of to bar 126 (note and tie). It is almost certainly Chopin's oversight, related to the transition from bar 126 to a new page in A. Cf. analogous bars 101, 107 and 132.

Dotted crotchet in FE, EE & GE

..

In A (→GC), the lack of the dot extending the first crotchet of the R.H. lower voice is almost certainly an oversight by Chopin. The dot was added in all editions.

b. 127

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

Crotchet g1 in A (→FE,EE)

Quaver g1 in GC (→GE)

..

As in analogous bar 102, the rhythm in the upper voice of the R.H. has two versions in the sources. In the main text we present the version of GC (→GE). This time the correction is inaccurate – Chopin added a quaver flag to the g1 note but   forgot the rest, as a result of which the bar in the upper voice has only 5 quavers. The obvious mistake was corrected in GE.
