b. 49

composition: Op. 42, Waltz in A♭ major

d1-e1 in FE

d1-e1-g1 in GE & EE

..

The d1-e1 second in FE is the original version – in FEG (→GE) Chopin added a gnote to it. Also EE has a completed version with the d1-e1-gchord. Therefore, the fact of leaving the original version in FE seems to be Chopin's oversight.

Pedalling in EE

No pedalling in FE & GE

..

The pedalling on this page of Waltz (in bars 57-71 and 87-88) is only in EE. There is no reason to doubt its authenticity.

b. 76-84

composition: Op. 42, Waltz in A♭ major

Thirds in FE & GE

Sixths in EE

..

On the 2nd and 3rd crotchets in bars 76 and 84 EE has an e-csixth, similarly as in analogous bars 44 and 52. It is most probably an authentic variant introduced into the base text to EE.

b. 81

composition: Op. 42, Waltz in A♭ major

d1-e1 in FE0 (→FE,FEGGE1)

d1-e1-g1 in EE & GE2 (→GE3)

..

The d1-e1 second featured in FE and GE1 is the original version, which is proven by the comparison with the remaining four analogous places in bars 49, 113, 173 and 269. In three out of five of these places, Chopin added to it the gnote in FEG (→GE). In EE the completed version with the d1-e1-gis present in all five places, which also proves Chopin's proofreading. Therefore, the fact of leaving the original version of the discussed bar in FE and GE1 must be considered as Chopin's oversight.

b. 92-95

composition: Op. 42, Waltz in A♭ major

One slur in FEG (literal reading→GE1)

One slur in FEG (interpretation) & EE

No slur in FE

Two slurs in GE2 (→GE3)

..

Chopin added a slur in those bars to FEG, it is also present in EE. Although a fragment of the slur visible on the available photograph reaches only the bar line after bar 94 (on this basis GE1 ends the slur on the last quaver of this bar), the shape of the line nevertheless suggests a continuation into bar 95. In GE2 (→GE3) the slur was prolonged up to bar 95, but also arbitrarily divided into two parts in bar 92. FE does not have any slur in this passage.
