Pedalling in FE1 & EE

No markings in FE0 (→GE)

FE0 has no pedal indications in this Waltz, almost certainly in line with [A]. In FEG Chopin placed only one  sign in bar 281, which anyway was not included in GE. However, in the bases for FE1 and EE Chopin must have indicated the pedalling in more comprehensive way, as each of these editions feature dozens of pedal markings. The indications in both editions coincide (bars 9-24, 45-47, 55-56 and 277-287) or complement each other – FE has signs yet in bars 41-44, 244-261 and 273-276, and EE in bars 48-51, 57-71, 87-88 and 119-120. Most probably Chopin originally intended to write similar markings into both (maybe even all?) proofs but owing to inattention some fragments were annotated only in one of them. In the main text we take account of both the coinciding and complementary indications. We discuss separately small discrepancies in placing  signs.
