In each of the base texts Chopin marked the dynamics of the ending of the piece differently:
- FE has the smallest number of markings and indications – in bar 277, after which there is a cresc. leading to the culminant in bar 283; contrary to GE and EE Chopin did not write any accents in the ending here;
- in EE the first indication is also a in bar 277, followed by cresc. in bars 278-283 and a in bar 285, while everything is completed with accents in bars 277-280 and 286-287 (the latter are only in EE);
- in FEG (→GE) the dynamic markings appear earlier – already in bar 269 Chopin added a , while four bars later a ; he also added accents in bars 277-280 and a cresc. leading from bar 277 to the last, culminant in bar 285.
It can be seen that the version of EE is positioned between the more distinctively different sets of indications in FE and GE, which is one of the arguments for all three sets. According to us, the general dynamic image of the Waltz's ending is compatible in all editions, while the particular indications may, although they do not have to, be considered as complementary. To the main text we adopt the most complete version of FEG (→GE) written by Chopin's hand.
