Issues : Long accents
b. 5-6
|
composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
In A the accent in bar 5 is significantly longer than the one in bar 6 (similarly in bars 9-10). A minor difference was reproduced only in EE, which is probably a fortuitous coincidence. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Inaccuracies in GE |

b. 9-10
|
composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
In FE the type of the accent in bar 9 (short or long) is not obvious – in GE it was reproduced as short, in EE – as long. In FE (→GE,EE) the short accent in bar 10 was overlooked. In FED Chopin added a long accent in bar 9, confirming the printed sign. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , Annotations in FED , Inaccuracies in GE |

b. 13

composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
The accent in A (and the editions) does not differ significantly from the accent in the next bar. Taking into consideration the clearly less precise notation of this bar in A (graphic layout, missing flats, lack of the dot extending the minim), in the main text we suggest a long accent after analogous bars 5 and 9. category imprint: Interpretations within context issues: Long accents |

b. 18-20
|
composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
The type of accents in bars 18 and 20 (short or long) is not clear in FE – in GE they were reproduced as short, while in EE as long. We adopt that, same as in A, they are long accents. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE |

b. 29
|
composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
The long accent of considerable size over f1, written in A, was reproduced in FE (→GE,EE) as a mark and referring rather to the R.H. In FED Chopin clearly indicated that he wanted to accentuate f1. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Annotations in teaching copies , Annotations in FED |
