Issues : Errors in FE
b. 9-10

composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major

In FE the type of the accent in bar 9 (short or long) is not obvious – in GE it was reproduced as short, in EE – as long. In FE (→GE,EE) the short accent in bar 10 was overlooked. In FED Chopin added a long accent in bar 9, confirming the printed sign. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , Annotations in FED , Inaccuracies in GE |

In FE the dot extending G was omitted, as a result of which the bar in the L.H. has only 11 semiquavers. It is either a simple oversight (cf. bar 26) or a result of a misunderstanding at the time of proofreading (the wrong dot was removed? – see the adjacent remark). The mistake was corrected both in GE and in EE. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , GE revisions |
