composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
The fingering of A, contrary to the remaining indications both in A (bar 1) and in FE (→GE,EE), may be an echo of the original concept or, which is more plausible, an effect of distraction – Chopin wrote digits for the upper voice (correct) and mechanically completed them with ones. The digits were omitted in FE (→GE,EE), which may be a result of the composer's proofreading. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 33
|
composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
The fingering, given by Chopin in a proofreading of FE (→GE), was, according to us, erroneously reproduced – the digits referring to the bottom notes, placed in the editions over the notes, were mistakenly printed two semiquavers late. In EE Fontana completed the fingering of the upper voice over the 9th and 10th semiquavers. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Authentic corrections of FE |
