b. 46

composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major

Slur in A & EE

No slur in FE (→GE)

..

The slur embracing the progression of thirds in the L.H. was overlooked in FE (→GE). The mark was added in EE, probably in analogy to bar 44.

b. 47

composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major

No slurs in A (→FEGE1)

Slurs in EE & GE2 (→GE3GE4)

..

We consider the lack of slurs in A (→FEGE1) to be Chopin's oversight. The revisers of EE and GE2 (→GE3GE4) were of a similar opinion, as they added the slurs (and an accent).

b. 47

composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major

No accent in A (→FEGE1)

Accent in EE & GE2 (→GE3GE4)

..

In the main text we do not include the accent, added in EE and GE2 (→GE3GE4) by analogy to bar 45 (together with the slurs). The accentuation of these bars can be different, as they also differ in dynamic indications – in bar 47 there is no  mark, added during a proofreading of FE in bar 45.

..

The fingering of EE is Fontana's addition.
