composition: Op. 10 No 5, Etude in G♭ major
..
The brillante and legato indications added by Chopin in a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE) in bars 1 and 3 respectively are considered by us as the final decision of the composer, as far as the articulation and sound of the figurations in the R.H. are concerned. The change should undoubtedly be related to the dynamic markings added in FE: leggierissimo does not rather correspond to the dynamics. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

All dynamic markings in bars 1-3, 5-6, 9-11 and 13-15 were added by Chopin in a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE). At the same time, it can be assumed that it was a change of the dynamic concept and not its clarification, which is proved by the parallel change of leggierissimo to brillante in bar 1 and reduction of the number of notes in the chords in bar 2 and analog. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: No initial dynamic marking , Authentic corrections of FE |
