In the main text we give the articulation (slurs, without staccato sign) in the 1st half of the bar on the basis of FE, which was probably proofread by Chopin. The reason why the earlier start of the slur (from the 1st note) introduced in this edition was reproduced neither in GE nor in EE remains a mystery.
