No signs in A

  in FE (→GE,EE)

Our unified suggestion

The dynamic hairpins in bars 33-36 and 37-40 were added by Chopin during a proofreading of FE. The comparison of both four-bar sections allows to assume that the visible range of the signs could have been partially forced by the division into great staves. Therefore, it is the signs that do not abruptly end at the end of the lines that are closer to the composer's intention –  in bars 35-36 and  in bars 37-38. We suggest a unified version of the signs, based on this assumption, as an alternative to the main text, in which we precisely reproduce the hairpins of FE.

GE and EE reproduce the signs of FE, yet due to inaccuracies or the revision, particular editions display minor differences, especially in bars 37-38.
