The  marks visible in A under the part of the L.H. in bars 77 and 79 present serious performance problems – none of them was included in FE (→GE,EE), while the mark in bar 77 may concern the part of the R.H. in bar 81. We base the variant solution in the text on the assumption that both marks concern the L.H. and their absence in the editions could have been a result of inaccuracies in reproducing the manuscript.

Lack of staccato dots at the beginning of bars 79 and 81 in the editions is most probably a result of negligence of the engraver of FE.

The value of minim, given to the bottom note of the c1-f1 fourth in FE (→GE,EE), is most probably erroneous. In the main text we give the written in A crotchet, which we however write with a separate stem in order to avoid ambiguity.

The difference between dots and wedges in A is very clear, yet it was not included in FE (→GE). Taking into account numerous inaccuracies of the notation of staccato marks in FE, we give preference to the detailed indications of A. In EE all dots were omitted.
