b. 3

Octave in FE (→GE,EE

The lack of the lower octave in CLI is certainly an oversight. See bars 4-11.

b3 in CLI & EE

a3 in FE (→GE)

..

The b3 note on the last semiquaver of CLI and EE could be easily considered as a mistake except for the fact that in analogous bar 53 the sources have the same text. Therefore, it cannot be excluded that in CLI we are dealing with the original version, while in EE with the editor's revision.

b. 5-6

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

In CLI the G1-G octave in bar 5 is a semibreve, while the D1-D octave in bar 6 – a minim. It seems to be highly unlikely for this obvious error to be included in [AI].

Octave in FE (→GE,EE)

According to us, lack of the bass' octave strengthening in CLI is not the original version, but rather the copyist's error (overseeing two 8s indicating lower octaves). Such abbreviated notation of the octaves in this place is included in FE (→GE).

CLI has gas the 1st note of the last group of semiquavers. It is hard to assume that Chopin could have committed such a striking mistake.
