Chopin added the trill's fingering in FED. It proves that in certain situations, e.g., at the beginning of the piece, the composer would start the trill from the main note.

Our variant suggestion

Our alternative suggestion

..

The sources reveal Chopin's hesitation concerning the fingering in this bar. According to the indications in A and FED, the fingering order for the 1st group of semiquavers is 5215, while FE (→GE,EE) gives 5125. However, neither A nor FED determines the fingering of the two following semiquaver groups – it can be both 4215 and 4125. In the main text we adopt a variant solution, in which we collate the digits featured in the sources. Additionally, we suggest a notation including all fingering possibilities stemming from various interpretations of these source notations which do not determine the fingering in the 2nd and 3rd groups of semiquavers.

c3 in GE1 (→GE2)

In A (→FE) there is no accidental before the 4th semiquaver. There is no reason to doubt that it is a typical of Chopin inaccuracy, resulting from the rules of validity of the accidentals, which in fact were not fully established in Chopin's notation. It is confirmed by the  written in this place in FED. In spite of this, in GE1 (→GE2) there is a  before this note, which is certainly a mistake.

The fingering digit added over the 5th semiquaver ('1') in a proofreading of FE (→GE) is erroneous, which is revealed by comparison with analogous figures in bars 81 and 83. The conclusion is confirmed by corrections in FED and FES written with pencil. The correct digit '2' is also in EE.
