The fingering digit added over the 5th semiquaver ('1') in a proofreading of FE (→GE) is erroneous, which is revealed by comparison with analogous figures in bars 81 and 83. The conclusion is confirmed by corrections in FED and FES written with pencil. It is hard to determine whether the change of the fingering digit '1', which occurred between A and FE (→GE), is a result of Chopin's correction or the engraver's error. Both fingering solutions are natural and comfortable, hence we include both in the main text, with affinity toward the undoubtedly authentic fingering of A.
