b. 45

composition: Op. 45, Prelude in C♯ minor

..

In FE1 there is no  in front of the lowest note of the chord in the R.H. (e2), as well as in front of the 6th and 7th quavers in the L.H. (a and e1). The necessary accidentals were added in FE2 and EE. GE also has a correct text.

b. 47-48

composition: Op. 45, Prelude in C♯ minor

..

The sources differ in the placement of cautionary naturals before the notes in those bars. FE has only one natural and just in bar 48 (before the 3rd quaver). The sign is also present in EE, in which, however, another three were added in bar 47 – before a2 in the chord at the beginning of the bar and two in the L.H. In GE  were placed before the first appearance of the note in each hand; undoubtedly, the sign before the 4th quaver was added during the proofing.

c2-g2-a2-c3 in FE (→EE)

c2-g2-c3 in GE

..

GE is lacking the a2 note in the chord. In the main text we adopt the version of FE (→EE), as the comparison with the analogous bar 41 and an undeniable oversight of the note in bar 54 in GE indicate a high probability of an erroneous omission of the chord's component in this case.
