Issues : Inaccuracies in FE
b. 376-377
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
Differences in placement of - between the beginning of b. 376 in FE and b. 377 in EE - are mostly accidental and have no impact on performance. Our proposal presented in the main text seems to be the best for practical reasons. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE |

In the main text we present consistent and logical slurring of FE (only at the beginning of b. 497 the slur's ending/extention from previous bars is missing). They are present in GE, despite different notation of GC, where the slurs in line-ending bars 496, 504 and 512 may actually suggest continuation (except b. 520) but for the lack of their completion at the beginning of bars 497, 505 and 513. EE has varied slurring: twice a three-bar slurs and twice two times longer. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , EE inaccuracies , Inaccuracies in GC |

In FE the mark is placed imprecisely as proven by its compared notations in the remaining sources and corresponding places. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE |

The mark must be authentic, it is not certain however, if it was not Chopin's intention to move it 4 bars further. Therefore, we propose our variant solution, bracketing the mark. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , No pedal release mark |
