For the main text we adopt the slur of EE and GC (→GE). The FE slur covering two bars of clearly different texture and function raises a question about its consistency with Chopin's intention - e.g. does the slur end in b. 541 as it is the last one on the page in FE? It seems more logical to have a slur extending over to the end of b. 542 or even as far as the beginning of b. 567. However, it is possible that Chopin believed that the LH's further figuratiuon should naturally fall under slurring of the RH part, where the main theme of this part is presented.
