The versions of A (→GE) only differ in the presence or absence of a before c1. The version of FE (→EE1→EE2) results from Chopin's correction; we adopt it - supplemented with a cautionary before e flat1 - for our main text. As the 1st crotchet A (→GE) has just A flat, as in the previous bar. Chopin added A flat1 in the proofing of FE (→EE). At the same time the staccato sign, independent of the right hand, was omitted, which definitely was not Chopin's intention. In our main text we give both the added note and the omitted dot.
