The hairpins   in A may be read and interpreted in a number of ways. This is so because the beginning of the mark was drawn too vigorously and its ends are of unequal length. The versions of GE1 (→FE) and GE2 (→GE#) present two attempts to decipher the notation of A. The hairpins   in EE are probably a distorted accent.

Our suggestion

..

A has two R.H. slurs in those bars: one above the notes and the other, shorter one - under the notes (it is not clear whether the lower slur is to begin from the semiquaver or from the 2nd beat of the bar). The versions of GE1 (→FE) present the slurs of A inaccurately (the starting point) and erroneously (only one of the two slurs from bar 75 has an ending in bar 76 in a new line). In EE and GE2 (→GE3) the notation was streamlined, with a single slur left. In our opinion, the lower slur of A was written earlier and in the composer's intention it was replaced by the upper slur. Chopin failed to remove the earlier-written slur either accidently or wishing to avoid deletions and erasures that could affect the legibility of the manuscript.

Without dots in A (→GE1FEEE)

Dots in GE2 (→GE3)

..

In GE2 (→GE3), staccato dots were added under bass notes A flat. We consider the addition lacking grounds here, as Chopin used a dot to separate the bass lowered by an octave in bar 77 from among five consecutive bars (75-79) based on the A flatchord.

A slur under the triplet in A (→GE1FEEE)

Triplet slur absent in GE2 (→GE3)

..

The extra slurs under the triplets in bars 79, 83 and 87 in A (GE1FEEE) were omitted in GE2 (→GE3). In the context, those slurs are just part of the triplet markings and we do not take them into consideration (cf. General Editorial Principlespoint 16).
