In A, the accents on the 3rd beat in bars 15 and 19 are clearly longer than the remaining accents in bars 13-20. In GE (→FE→EE) that difference was considered insignificant.

In A, the dynamic mark    in bar 24 is so short that in GE1 (→FE→EE) it was mistook for an accent. However, what contradicts that interpretation is the placement of that mark in A: it is entered after the note, which is hardly ever found for accents in Chopin's autographs (a very similar sign in bar 36 was read in GE as diminuendo hairpins). GE2 (→GE3) have   here.

It is not clear whether the mark entered in A on the 3rd beat of the bar should be understood as hairpins   or as a long accent. The same may be said about the mark in GE which was nonetheless reproduced in FE (→EE) as an accent, and on top of that a short one. The similarity of the mark in A to the neighbouring marks in bars 26 and 28 makes us consider it to be a hairpin mark . Taking into account that in this context the difference between a long accent and a diminuendo mark of similar length is very slight, both in graphic appearance and in meaning, we give up the alternative reading (with the long accent).

The accents on the 2nd beat in bars 41 and 43 are definitely long ones in A, yet GE1 (→FE→EE) have short accents in both places. That inaccuracy was corrected in GE2 (→GE3).

Each of the ten minims in that fragment has a long accent in A, and although the signs differ in length, reproducing them with the use of various markings (, long and short accents) seems not fully justified graphically and unconvincing from the musical point of view.  In GE1 the signs were interpreted in two ways, either as ordinary short accents (bars 77, 81 and 82) or as  from the minim to the crotchet. That notation was repeated in FE with just one change in bar 77. In EE,  marks were used in bars 73-78 and accents in bars 81-88. The notation of A was most faithfully reproduced in GE2 (→GE3): long accents in bars  73-82 and  in bars 85-88. That version may be considered an alternative reading of A.
