  b. 16

The autographs include 2 versions of the L.H.: with a g-esixth on the 2nd and 3rd beats in AO, AR, AE (→CX), AK and with a b added to the sixth in AG (→CY). A similar situation to AG occurs in F; however, the 1st beat is a dotted minim - an extended B in the bottom voice.
The version of CC, repeating the variant of the L.H. from the previous bar, must be erroneous - it would produce a stylistically questionable repetition of the same version of the L.H. as many as three times in a row (bars 15-17).
