The incidental d1 note in CC - compared to the b note in the remaining sources - may be considered an oversight of the copyist, one of the examples of the Terzverschreibung error.

Particular versions differ both rhythmically and harmonically. Apart from FC (with dotted rhythm), the basis of these bars is a doubly dotted rhythm: with rests (in AO, AR, AE, CC, AG) or a tied note/consonance from the previous bar (in AK, F). The harmony in AG is different than in the remaining variants - it is based on a diminished four-note chord, contrary to the remaining versions, based on a C minor chord.
Chopin overlooked some single rests in the versions of AO, AR and AG (also →CY), which we add in the edition.
The note on the 1st beat in the L.H. in CC may be considered a likely Terzverschreibung error - a copying inaccuracy - due to the lack of confirmation in other sources. Nevertheless, it does not interfere with the harmony in this bar, hence we present it as a separate variant.

In AO, there is a trill, whereas in AE (→CX) and CC - mordent. In AK, it is difficult to unambiguously interpret the notation of the ornament; it is most likely a mordent. The version of AR features a sole acrotchet, without ornament. In AG (→CY), there is a triplet (in AG, there is a letter of repetition of bar 21). The ornament in the form of two semiquaver grace notes in F, most probably resulting from an intention of writing out the mordent, is most likely Fontana's revision.

In CC, there is a cinstead of an a1. We consider it an example of the Terzverschreibung error; in the edition, we suggest an a1, like in the remaining sources.
