



Chopin added the cresc. - - indications in bars 174-175 and 178-179 to A after the basis for FE had been finished, that is [FC]. In GE they were inaccurately reproduced – the dash at the beginning of bar 175 and the entire indication in bars 178-179 were overlooked. The oversight in bars 178-179 was corrected by GE2, yet again omitting the dashes in the second bar. This suggests that in both cases it was intentional – adjusting indications to rhythmic structures (in this case – bars), particularly frequent with dynamic hairpins.
