Lack of lower octaves in CLI is almost certainly a result of the copyist's error – the octaves are there both in the previous and in the next bars. In FE (→EE) the octaves are written in an abbreviated form with the use of the 8 sign. category imprint: Differences between sources; Source & stylistic information issues: Abbreviated octaves' notation , Errors of CLI |

The b3 note on the last semiquaver in CLI is probably the original version of this place. The same note in EE may be a result of the editorial edition. However, in both cases errors cannot be entirely excluded. Cf. bar 5. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in EE , Main-line changes , Errors of CLI |

In some of the sources the lower notes of the octaves in the L.H. are marked in an abbreviated form with 8 signs. In CLI and FE all described bars are written in this way, although in CLI two 8 signs were omitted in bar 60. In EE the abbreviation was used only in bars 54-56. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Abbreviated octaves' notation , Errors of CLI |

Lack of the lower octave in CLI may be a consequence of an oversight, however, due to a different version of the subsequent bar, it is not entirely sure. In FE the octave is written in an abbreviated form. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Abbreviated octaves' notation , Errors of CLI |
