b. 179
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
The bottom note of the third semiquaver in the R.H. was corrected in GC from f2 to e2. It is hard to state clearly whether it is Gutmann's own correction or whether it was Chopin that noticed and corrected the wrong pitch while reviewing GC. b. 191
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
In A the inner note of the last chord in the L.H. is barely visible, therefore, in EE it was omitted. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources; Source & stylistic information |

b. 236
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The version of GC (→GE1) is certainly erroneous – the double stroke of the same note (a1) by the L.H., unjustified by the voice leading, does not make any sense, as far as the piano technique is concerned. It is worth observing that the copyist initially wrote a chord within the correct, one octave, span, yet with a double Terzverschreibung error – a-c1-e1-a1. He then corrected it, yet only partially. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Terzverschreibung error , GE revisions , Errors of GC , Alterations in GC |

b. 293
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
In GC, the 3rd quaver of the L.H. sounds as b1. At the same time we can see in the manuscript that it was corrected from a1. Taking into consideration the regularity of figuration in all the analogous places, it is hard not to treat the version of GC (→GE) as anything more than an error.
