Issues : Authentic corrections of FC
b. 692-707
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we give the indication cresc. - - - written by Chopin in FC (see the note to b. 65-66) The composer added crescendo in this fragment also in the proofreading of FE (→EE); however, he began it a bar later. That version, most probably later, can be considered equivalent. GE1 reproduced the indication of FC inaccurately, since from b. 697 it overlooked the dashes marking the range of cresc. That oversight was corrected in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections of FC |

b. 708
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we give the indication entered by Chopin into FC (→GE). The dashes marking the range of cresc. are most probably a mistake of the engraver of FE (→EE), who led them to the end of the page instead of to the end of the phrase. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections of FC |

b. 730-731
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we keep the slur of FC (→GE), yet it is uncertain whether it was added by Chopin. Anyway, the missing slur in A is probably just an oversight (of Chopin), so it seems justified to add that slur, even if it was added by Fontana. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FC |

b. 756-761
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
The hairpin in b. 756-757 and 760-761 was added by Chopin in FC (→GE). In b. 756-757 the mark is also in A, yet it was deleted together with the indication written over it. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FC |
