Issues : Errors repeated in EE

b. 274

composition: Op. 16, Rondo in E♭ major

..

In FE (→EE1), there is no  raising a2 to a2. The error, obvious in this context, may have occurred already in [A]. The necessary accidental was added in GE and EE2 (→EE3). Similarly in bar 290.

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

Minim g in A (→FCGE)

Dotted minim g in FE (→EE)

..

In FE (→EE) the g note is a dotted minim, which is a mistake. The crossing-out in A shows that it was also Chopin that initially wrote it like that; however, he eventually clarified the notation to avoid the g-a cluster at the end of the bar.

b. 274

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

Like in b. 41 and 67, the  restoring g2 in the last octave in the bar is missing in the majority of the sources. The mistake was corrected only in EE2 (→EE3), in which sharps were added next to both notes of that octave. In the main text we only add the necessary  next to g2.

b. 279

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

In FE (→EE1) the double grace note before the 3rd crotchet in the bar is A-B, which is a mistake and which results in two identical notes. The error was rectified in EE2.

Our variant suggestion

..

In the main text we suggest the markings of FE for the chordal section starting from the syncopated crotchet; there is a possibility to add the staccato dot from GE in analogous b. 25. At the same time, we correct the third accent, which was misplaced, i.e. it was put over the first chord in b. 284 (which is tied!). EE1 repeated the mistake of FE and also overlooked the slur (which was added in EE2).
