Issues : Errors of GC

composition: Op. 25 No 11, Etude in A minor
..
Based on the fact of writing the part of the L.H. under the semiquavers of the R.H., the equal quavers in GC (→GE) are a result of a mistake of the copyist who forgot to add the dot extending b and semiquaver beam. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors of GC , Dotted or even rhythm |

composition: Op. 25 No 10, Etude in B minor

The erroneous value of the bass e – double dotted minim – written in GC (→GE1) was probably supposed to, according to Chopin's intention, provide a simultaneous decay (before the rest) of all three voices. Therefore, in the main text we suggest a relevant notation, introduced in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Rhythmic errors , Errors of GC |

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt III

The absence of the returning a is undoubtedly an oversight of Chopin in [A] (→GC,FE1→FE2→FE3→FE4). In the remaining editions the sign was completed, it was also added in FES. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Omissions to cancel alteration , GE revisions , Errors of A , FE revisions , Errors of GC |

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

The slurs encompassing each of the groups of small quavers are written in A under the notes. This might have resulted in them being omitted in GC (→GE) and FE. However, EE reproduced the slurs over the beams what made possible to avoid clashes with the ties to particular notes of the broken chord. This more readable notation is given in the main text. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors of GC |

b. 47-50
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
EE overlooks all slurs in this four-bar section, in both the R.H. and L.H. parts. In GC there are no slurs in the L.H. part in bars 47-49, which is probably a result of an oversight too. In GE the version of GC was completed with a slur in bar 48, probably after bar 50. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE , GE revisions , Errors of GC |
