  b. 13-14

Shorter slur from b. 13 in AI

Slur in b. 14 in FE (→EE)

No slur in GE

AI reveals an earlier version of slurring of this motif, related to a different articulation concept of the main theme. The easiest explanation for the absence of the slur in GE is an oversight by the engraver, although it is likely that the slur of FE was added only just in the last stage of proofreading FE1, hence it was absent in the proof copy that served as the basis for GE1. See also the notes in the next bar.
