The version of GE3, in which the first quaver of the top voice in bars 233 and 235 is c3, was created almost 10 years after Chopin's death. The reason for the revision was probably the presence of c2 two quavers later. Moreover, it is the missing necessary 
lowering d
3 to d3 in a similar situation in bar 239 in the previous GE (and FE) that could have convinced the reviser that it is a mistake.
