In an identical figuration four bars later, Fontana indicated only the fingering of the quavers in the bottom voice. However, he most probably meant the same fingering in both places. Its authenticity remains unconfirmed, like the majority of Fontana's indications.

In bar 630, 635, 638 and 640 in FE, there are no little slurs combining the grace notes with the quaver that ends the motif. A comparison with the remaining similar bars of this 24-bar section points to oversights of the engraver of FE or of Chopin himself.
