b. 667
In FE, a few patent mistakes and inaccuracies crept into the notation of bars 667-670:
- in bar 667, the top note of the tremolando is a c3 and not b2, which one should expect, taking into account the following bars and the analogous phrase in bars 329-332. The mistake was corrected in GE and EE;
- in all four bars, the middle notes of the tremolando that double the trill are devoid of extending dots. This inaccuracy was also corrected in the remaining editions by adding dots wherever the abbreviated notation of FE was preserved (bars 668-670 in GE) or notes wherever the tremolandi were written out with subsequent semiquavers (bar 667 in GE and all four bars in EE);
- in the notation of the tremolando in bar 670, there is no f3, which does not actually influence the performance – the trill on the f3 minim is still valid – yet it is an obvious oversight. Like the mistakes mentioned before, this defect was corrected both in GE and EE.
