Issues : Cautionary accidentals

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt II

In A there are no accidentals before the 11th semiquaver (in both hands), as a result of which both here and two notes later one should read an a(1). Chopin's patent oversight was corrected in all editions.
A cautionary  before the 12th semiquaver – g(1) – is written in A only in the R.H. This inaccuracy was also corrected in the editions.

In A (→GE1FE) there are cautionary flats before the 2nd demisemiquaver. The superfluous in this context signs were removed in EE and GE2.

We preserve the double flats written in A over the  signs, although they are not necessary from the formal point of view. GE1 (→FEEE) did not include them. In addition, all editions overlooked the wavy lines after the  signs and GE1 (→FEEE) omitted also the very  sign in the part of the L.H. (the latter is unseeable in A, in which its presence, however, undoubtedly results from the inserted wavy line and ).

The cautionary  before fwas added in GE (→FEEE). It seems to be highly unlikely that such a minor addition was performed by Chopin himself, but it cannot be excluded – cf. the note on d3
