No slurs in A

L.H. slurs in GE (→FEEE)

..

The slurs in the L.H. in bars 66-67 and 69, although they could have been added by Chopin in the proofreading of GE1, are, however, most probably an editorial revision. In both cases, the slurs of the R.H., whose compliance with Chopin's intention seems to be highly questionable, were doubled – see notes to bars 66-67 and 69-70.

Idem, R.H. only

The missing flats before the penultimate demisemiquaver, in spite of their presence in all authentic sources, is almost certainly Chopin's mistake. Descending augmented seconds in scale passages do appear in his works (e.g. in bars 40 and 43), but not in a situation when the upper note of an augmented second would constitute a turning point of a figuration – cf. corresponding places in bars 28, 42 or 65.

If in bar 64 the version with harmonic accompaniment was chosen, the first or third version is to be selected here.

Three-part notation in A (→GEFE)

Two-part notation in EE

..

The notation of EE is most probably a result of having misunderstood the notation of FE, in which the semiquaver beam of the middle voice was placed too high, which can make an impression that they create an incomprehensible whole together with the top beam.

The  returning ein the descending fragment of the roulade is absent in all sources, which is undoubtedly Chopin's mistake. EE added flats restoring e2 and dat the end of the bar – an addition justified in the original notation with the use of an octave sign in the uppermost fragment of the roulade.

Demisemiquavers in EE

..

It was probably the lack of the triplet marking over the first group of semiquavers that induced the reviser of EE to arbitrarily change the rhythm.
